Well, today was Ella's estimated delivery date! It is hard to believe that she has been in our arms for the past 15 days. It has been absolutely amazing! Everyone always says, "enjoy every minute because they grow up so quickly," and even though it has only been two weeks I can fully see that. Ella changes every single day and sometimes I just want to stop time so that I can enjoy her sweet little face just a while longer. Tomorrow we will see the pediatrician for her 2 week appointment. I can't wait to find out how much she has grown. She is definitely getting longer and has put on some weight as well. My tiny little one is not going to be tiny for much longer!
Also wanted to send you to our friend Jessica's blog to see some photos. Check them out here. You can go directly to the specific posts by looking on the left side of her blog. They are entitled: Meet Ella Grace, More of the Cooley's and Meet the Cooley's. If you are ever in need of a photographer, Jessica is extremely talented and LOVES what she does!

I Need a Hobby
Does taking pictures of my child count as a hobby? With the Olympics now over, I really need a hobby. I have read a couple of books over the past two weeks and have spent an inordinate amount of time on the internet, but seriously, I need a hobby. The problem is I am not crafty, I am way too frugal and I don't think my sweet little girl is ready to start playing organized sports for me to coach. I am enjoying being a SAHM, but I definitely need a hobby!

Tanning
When Ella came home from the hospital she was jaundiced. We saw the doctor last Friday and she was prescribed photo therapy for a couple of days. Here is a photo of our little girl working on her first tan. If you look at the photo closely you will see a blue light shinning behind her. That is the photo blanket that she had to lay on. Thankfully as of Sunday afternoon she is no longer on photo therapy.

Run, Kick, Shoot, Score
Well, the Olympics are off to a great start. Opening Ceremonies....IMPRESSIVE! What a performance! Thank goodness for some high quality athletic entertainment while I count the hours until my doctor's appointment on Tuesday. I tried to explain the rules of soccer to Ella as we watched Brazil beat N. Korea and China and Canada tie, but she was more interested in practicing her free kicks against my ribs and working on her hiccups. I then tried to explain the fundamentals of sand volleyball as we watched the US beat the Dutch, but again she was not really interested. Instead she was practicing her spikes on my bladder and her sets and bumps on my lower abdomen. Oh how I will miss these little movements when she is in my arms, but I am longing to hold her more and more each day. I promise I won't give a play by play of my Olympic games watching each day, but be forewarned....there is no telling what might appear on this blog over the next few days during my imprisonment in my king size bed.

Stir Crazy
I was discharged from the hospital this afternoon. Unfortunately, I am on bedrest until I see Dr. L on Tuesday or unless I hear otherwise tomorrow. I thought that hearing the words, "You need to stay in bed," would be a welcome reprieve from work and all the other menial tasks I do each day; however, after just 24 hours of bedrest I am already going stir crazy.
It especially stinks because I don't feel bad at all. In fact, I feel great except for the slight headache I get if I sit up to quickly. Staying in bed would be so much easier if I didn't feel well.
Oh well, at least I have the Olympics to watch starting tomorrow and maybe I can get the dozens of thank you notes written that have been neglected.

No, I am NOT in Labor
Daniel and I have spent quite a bit of time at the hospital this week in Labor and Delivery. No, I am NOT in labor. Tuesday morning a friend of ours delivered a precious little girl and that evening we came by the hospital. We stopped in L & D to see our friend Michelle who is a nurse. While there my doctor came strolling along and gave me a long look and a "what are you doing here? I didn't get a page!" My response, I am NOT in labor!
Fast forward to 4:00pm yesterday. Guess where I found myself? You guessed it, L& D. No, I am NOT in labor. Yesterday at my weekly doctor's visit my blood pressure was "slightly" elevated, so my doctor decided it would be best for me to head over to L & D triage to be monitored. When I walked in, my friend Michelle, the nurse, rounded the corner, gave me that look and the "what are you doing here?" My response, I am NOT in labor.
But I am now in L & D and NOT in labor.
After 2 hours of monitoring my blood pressure in triage it was still not where Dr. L would have liked it to be and so I was admitted. It is 6:18am and I have slept for a total of about 2 and a half hours. I am tired but hospital beds, blood pressure cuffs, bathroom monitoring, etc. are not entirely conducive to a rest filled night. Not sure how long I will have to stay in the hospital, but know I have to be here at least 24 hours. Secretly, well not so secretly, I kind of hope I do go into labor and make this trip to L & D well worth it. As far as our sweet Eleanor Grace goes, she is doing great! She is full term at 37 weeks and really could arrive any day now.
